She's the leggy red head who has starred in Hollywood blockbusters, as well as a string of advertisements for luxury brands.

So it comes as no surprise to see Australian actress Nicole Kidman in Etihad Airways latest advertising campaign for their plush Airbus A380.

Nicole Kidman has taken aim at sexism in Hollywood, claiming the film industry does not represent an "even playing field" for women.

Speaking at the Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards in Los Angeles, the Oscar-winning Australian actor praised the organisation for its pioneering work supporting female actors and film-makers.

"Obviously we need to create more opportunities; it's not an even playing field," said Kidman, who picked up the Crystal award for excellence in film at the ceremony. "We're all working and banding together and trying to change that and that's what's needed. We also need to put cameras in little girls' hands and get them to tell stories and increase their confidence so that they can feel powerful."

The trailer of a historical drama starring American actress Nicole Kidman as "Queen of the Desert" is finally out.

Nicole Kidman costars with Robert Pattinson, James Franco, Damian Lewis, and Syrian actor Jihad Abdo.

The hollywood actress plays writer and British secret service operative, Gertrude Bell, who was named the female "Lawrence of Arabia" due to her contribution in "'shaping a new political order in the Middle East during the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Ottoman Empire."

Nicole is descended from the Finns, who originated in Castlegregory, a village in County Kerry. The Finns left Ireland's shores not long before the horrors of the Great Famine struck, but unlike so many, they travelled to Australia of their own free will!

Nicole Kidman is the sexually repressed mother of two troubled teenagers in the atmospheric Australian drama Strangerland.

In the debut film for director Kim Farrant, the Oscar winner plays Catherine Parker, who is unhappily married to a stitched-up English pharmacist, Matthew (Joseph Fiennes), in a fictional outback town called Nathgari.

Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman looks set to join the cast of How to Talk to Girls at Parties, a sci-fi comedy romance from Hedwig and the Angry Inch's John Cameron Mitchell, based on Neil Gaiman's short story, reports Screen Daily.

Elle Fanning is taking the lead role in the movie, which is described as Romeo and Juliet with punks and aliens (replacing the Montagues and Capulets). She plays an extra-terrestrial visitor to Earth who meets two teenage boys in the most dangerous spot on the planet: the London borough of Croydon in the 1970s.

Following a bidding war with Netflix, the premium cable network has landed David E. Kelley's Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman limited series Big Little Lies, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Based on Liane Moriarty's book Big Little Lies, Kelley penned the script for the limited series -- which was taken out to premium cablers and streaming services in November.
